    253(in ICOBS 6B and SUP 16.28) the distribution method through which the customer purchases a policy. Examples of channels include:

      1. (a) direct sales where the customer and insurer communicate directly without a third party’s involvement. This would include (as separate channels) sales:
        1. (i) by telephone;
        1. (ii) via the internet;
        1. (iii) through a branch;
      1. (b) sales through a specific price comparison website;
      1. (c) sales through a specific insurance intermediary; and
      1. (d) sales via a specific affinity/partnership scheme.
