An activity which falls within the scope of article 2(a) of the E-Commerce Directive, that is to say, generally speaking, and subject to the exclusions from the scope of article 3 of that Directive in the Annex to it, a service that:

1. (a) is normally provided for remuneration;
1. (b) is provided at a distance;
1. (c) is so provided by means of electronic equipment for the processing (including digital compression) and storage of data; and
1. (d) is so provided at the individual request of a recipient of the service.12
